Sélestat is a French commune located in Bas-Rhin, in the territory of the Collectivité européenne d'Alsace, in the Grand Est region.

The sub-prefecture and seat of the Sélestat community of communes, it had a population of 19,360 at the last census in 2018, making it the fifth-largest commune in Bas-Rhin and the eighth-largest in Alsace. Its inhabitants are known as Sélestadiens and Sélestadiennes.

Situated on the Alsace plain at the foot of the Vosges mountains, the Ill River flows through the town, most of which is covered by the wetlands of the Grand Ried.

A city of art and history, Sélestat ranks third in Alsace for its rich heritage, behind Strasbourg and Colmar. The town boasts two major churches, a medieval urban ensemble and a rich collection of Renaissance works housed in the Humanist Library. Sélestat also boasts an important natural heritage, as a large part of its territory is included in the Illwald regional nature reserve. Sélestat is also close to the Alsace wine route and Haut-Kœnigsbourg castle.

Short-term rental was an obvious choice for me, because I like to welcome travelers in a warm and welcoming environment, and to make sure they have a good time in our beautiful region. I'm an active member of many associations, including Décibulles (a music festival) and the Donzelles who march at the Pfifferdaj in Ribeauvillé.
